About Us
Located in Crystal River Florida, we are a small band that is always looking for good music. This year, come see us at Concerts, Pirate Football Games (Varsity and select Junior Varsity), and Marching Band Competitions!
Meet the Team
Ty Ramsey, Director of Bands
Ty Ramsey received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL. He came onboard as the new band director of the Crystal River High School Band for the 2019-2020 school year.
Prior to that, he was the band director at Crystal River Middle School. Mr. Ramsey directs the Crystal River Pirate Marching Band, the Symphonic Band, the Concert Band, and the Jazz Band. He works alongside the other fine arts teachers at Crystal River High School on musical theater productions and various concerts/showcases as well. In addition to all of this, Mr. Ramsey teaches AP Music Theory, Audio Recording, and Eurythmics.
Mr. Ramsey is a woodwind player and maintains a full performing schedule with various ensembles in Citrus County. These ensembles include the Nature Coast Community Band, the New Generation Big Band, and the Art Center of Citrus County Theater.
Mr. Ramsey lives in Beverly Hills with his two pups, Calypso and Chessie. When not involved in music, he is an avid gamer, a pinball player, and a car enthusiast.

Tim Cannella, Brass Technician
As a CRHS pirate band alumnus of 1997 Tim brings hometown pride. Tim performed with Suncoast Sound (DCI) in 1996 and 1997. He earned his Bachelors degree in music education from the University of Central Florida. In his down time he enjoys billiards, riding his motorcycle, and his cats (Lexi and Joey). Tim is also a proud band parent of a senior Trumpet/ Mellophone player.

Cale Hickey, Guard Technician
Cale attended Southern Union State Community College where he received his Associates in Dance. He later moved to Jacksonville, Alabama where he attended Jacksonville State University and performed with The Marching Southerners Colorguard.
He attended Handley High School in Roanoke, Alabama where he marched four years with his high school colorguard, three of which he was captain. Of the three years he was captain he was in charge of choreography and visual direction. After he graduated high school he continued to teach guard and dance to other local high schools.

Felicia Cridland, Media Specialist
Felicia attended Crystal River High School where she received her diploma, Microsoft Certification, and Early Childhood Professional Certification. She was a member of the Marching Pirate band for four years, three of which she was a Drum Major. She then attended Georgia Southern University, and now currently is majoring in Early Childhood Development at The University of North Florida.
Felicia now helps the Pirate Band with their social media presences, controlling a Facebook Page, Instagram Account and this website. She often takes pictures for the band at practices and competitions and posts them for students and parents to view.
